Bhooma Shriram
Smt. Bhooma Shriram is the daughter of Embar Shri. Srinivasa Raghvachariar, an exponent in the field of Harikatha. She took her initial training in vocal and veena from her mother Mrs. ChampakaLakshmi, an eminent carnatic musician. Observing her keen interest in music, she was put under the tutelage of Sri. Pudukkottai Ramu by her parents, under whom she took advanced training in carnatic music. Due to her overwhelming passion for music, Smt. Bhooma did her bachelors degree in Music from Queen Mary’s College, Madras, and later went on to complete her Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy degrees in Music. She also won the music scholarship from CCRTE (Centre for Cultural & resource, Training, New Delhi) for Veena in 1987. Smt. Bhooma started her career as a vocal and violin guru in 2001. She has trained over 500 students all over the world through online and face-to-face classes. She has also worked in many reputed schools including Sri R.M.Jain Vidyashram, Velammal, Sri R.M.Jain Vidyashram, and Narayana Mission as a music faculty.
