Kiran Kashyap is a contemporary violinist and a music arranger who is a disciple of Violin maestro Shri. Akkarai Swaminathan. Kiran started his journey in music as a south Indian percussionist under the globally reputed Mridangist - Kalaimamani Shri Thiruvarur Bakthavasalam . He took up the Violin under the able guidance of Shri Akkarai Swaminathan, the Guru who inspired him the most. Kiran strongly believes that music should not be bound by geographies & genres and wanted to master various genres on the violin. This thirst led him to take up the Western Classical music course at the A R Rahman’s KM Conservatory. Kiran has perfomed numerous concerts and also founded the progressive Carnatic Rock band called YAAZHI. Kiran’s notable achievements include collaboration with Canada based play back singer Dee Devan and has also won the K.Balachander award as part of the Theater Maham. Apart from his regular Carnatic music concerts, Kiran has also performed in famous venues like Phoenix market city, Unwind centre, Alliance franciase, Express Avenue Mall. Kiran aspires to explore music in a way where he understands that language that connects genres, that connects people, their emotions.
In this course, students will be exposed to the fundamentals of Carnatic music and Violin bowing/fingering techniques. The course is made of 5 modules that focuses on the teaching the students the fundamentals of carnatic music upto the Geetham and Swarajathis level. On the completion of this course, students will be ready to play very simple carnatic songs (Krithis) on the Violin, thereby making them eligible for the Intermediate level, where they will be learning Varnams and Krithis..
