Mamtha Vignesh

Smt Mamtha Vignesh hails from a family that has been rich in art and culture. Her grandfather and guru, Late Sri Udupi Lakshminarayana, was a revered classical dancer and teacher who taught classical art to the renowned brothers, Sri Prabhu Deva (actor, dancer, director), Sri Raju Sundaram & Sri Nagendra Prasad. Mamtha began learning the art form right from a very young age of 3. She has been well-versed in staging dance recitals from the age of 7. She has also performed several concerts across the country. She has been performing and teaching nattuvangam since 2004. She has been a very creative artist having choreographed and staged numerous dance shows, both traditional and fusion. Hunching upon her interests in Bharatanatyam, she developed her career in music and dance, having pursued her M.A in music and her MFA in dance under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Padma Subramaniam. She has won several awards and accolades such as “Best Upcoming Artist” for the year 2004-05 from Iyal Isai Naadaga Mandram, TN Government. Mamtha has also passed with distinction in the TN Government. Technical Exams in Dance. With an experience of more than 15 years of teaching, Mamtha has taught more than 100 students around the world both online and offline.
