Tanjore.V.Prema
Fondly known as the ‘MS of Tanjore’, Tanjore V Prema is one of the senior-most top vocalists in the field of carnatic music. Hailing from the famous Thanjavur Music tradition of Tiger Sri Varadhachari, Smt. V. Prema was trained by Sangeethabhushanam Sri P V Ganesa Iyer, who is a direct disciple of Tiger Sri Varadhachari. Smt. V. Prema started performing at the tender age of 10 and has performed over 5,000 concerts all over India & abroad. She has shared the dice with stalwarts like Thiniyam Krishnan, Thiruvarur Bhakthavatsalam, Mannargudi Eswaran and Nagai Muralidharan. She is an A grade artist of the All India Radio. She has been teaching carnatic music for the past 50+ years and has trained over 200 students all over the world. Bmusician is proud to have her as the Head of Department for Carnatic Vocals.
