Vinay Nagarajan started his training in Mridangam at tender age of 10 from Vid. N Narayanaswamy and currently receiving advanced training from Vid Bangalore S V Balakrishna (Disciple of Vid. Mannargudi Easwaran). He has secured distinction in the Senior Taalavadya exams conducted by the Karnataka Education Board under the Mridangam category and secured distinction in the certificate course Exam in Mridangam conducted by the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha,Bangalore. He has performed for top artists in multiple music genres like Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, Sampradaya Bhajan. He has accompanied many reputed artists like Vid. Srinivasa murthy, Vid Bangalore S Shankar, Vid. HS Venugopal, Vid. Saroja Natarajan, Vid. Usha Srinivasan, Vid. P Rama, Vid. Suchitra and Vid. Bombay PS Krishnamurthy to name a few. He has Performed in Prestigious venues and sabhas across India such as Bangalore Gayana Samaj, Sri Ramaseva Mandali, Seshadripuram Rama Seva Mandali, Krishna Gana Sabha (Chennai) and Narada Gana Sabha (Chennai) to name a few. He has also composed music for various dance productions and ballets. He is extremely proficient in other percussion instruments like Konnakol, Tabla, Dholki and Drums. He has also been a part of various percussion ensembles such as Srivani, Laayasurabhi, Laya Vaibhvam to name a few. Vinay has several accolades to his name such as the title of "Gana Sphurana Yuva Kala Sadhaka" awarded by Sphurana Kala Kendra Bangalore. Vinay has been teaching aspiring students the art of Mridangam and Konnakol for the past 5 years both online and offline. He has also conducted Rythm Workshops for Mridangam Students, Contemproary Dancers, Bharatanatyam Dancers at different places and organisations.
