Thanjavur S.Balakrishnan is a versatile mridangam artist, He is the disciple of veteran artists, Thanjavur Late Sri.S.Swaminatha Rao and Sri.Srimushnam RajaRao. He is a Grade A artist of All India Radio. He has performed in more than 800 concerts around the world and has accompanied legendary artists like Flute Ramani, Bombay sisters, Sowmya, Neyveli Santhnagopalan, Dr.Ganesh, and many others. He is a renowned guru at SIFAS SINGAPORE and has trained over 500 students in the field of Carnatic music. He also holds his expertise in Vocal, Veena, Violin, Jalatharangam, Harikatha, NamaSankeerthana Bajan, etc.
