Overview

The beginner konokol course is a well-structured course where the students will learn the fundamentals of Indian percussion and the konokol art form that includes basic Carnatic music theory, Indian Percussion theory and complete Aadi Thalam lessons. The courses consists of around 10 modules in which the students will be learning Thisra (3 beats), Chathusra (4 beats) and Kanta (5 beats) in Aadhi thalam, Mohara and Koravai and some interesting korvais in Aadhi thalam. On completion of this course, the students will be able to perform a simple solo (Thani Aavartham) in Aadhi thalam.

Overview

In the intermediate konokol course, students will learn complete Rupaka (6 beats) and Misra chapu (7 beats) thalams. This course also focuses on teaching the students the mathematics involved in Indian Percussion. On completion of this course, students will be able to perform brilliant solos in Aadhi, Rupakam and Misra Chaapu thalams.

Overview

In this advanced konokol course, students will learn complete Kanta chapu (5 beats) and any two of the 35 thalams. This course also focuses on teaching the students the advanced mathematics involved in Indian Percussion, Korvai Composition techniques and advanced solo performance techniques. This course also involves Korappu, advanced Arudhis and Muthaippu training. On completion of this course, students will be able to perform solos in Aadhi, Rupakam, Misra Chaapu thalams, Kanta Chapu thalams and any two of the 35 thalams in both Vilamba (Slow) kaalam and Chowka (Fast) kaalams.

Frequently Asked Questions

The system has an in-built video call classroom that works on the all major browsers. All you need is a laptop/desktop with camera and microphone attached and any one of the above mentioned browsers installed.

If you wish you take the classes on your phone, you can use the Bmusician app. Bmusician App is available both on Android and iOS.

There are basically two ways to get started with the classes. Live 1-to-1 or a Shared Slot. In case of LIVE 1-to-1, you can click the Enrol button below, tell us your time preferences i.e. when you will be free to take up the classes. We will allocate you a Teacher and Timeslot based on your preferences.

For Shared slots, you can click on the Teachers tab above, click the instructor you are interested in and select a timeslot that suits you and complete enrollment.
