Introducing the Unique Carnatic Wind Percussion, Morsing

The Morsing is the connecting link between the traditional Rajasthani folk music and the Carnatic music of South India. It is made of a flexible metal or bamboo tongue attached to a frame. The simple wind percussion instrument resembles the Jaw Harp, which produces a beautiful twanging sound when the player holds the Morsing against their teeth or lips while plucking the tongue with their finger. The Morsing musical instrument found its way into contemporary music genres, used in everything from world music to experimental and electronic music.

How to Learn the Morsing Musical Instrument

The folk music genre of India is diverse and unique, with beautiful instruments playing a pivotal role in their growing popularity. The Morsing is one such example that relies on the player’s breath control and plucking technique. As simple as it may sound, this wind percussion instrument can be tricky to master. But you can learn from the best tutors in the industry.

All of our faculty are handpicked from prominent musical backgrounds. They will guide you through engaging and interactive groups and individual sessions.
