A graded Artist of AIR Bangalore, Shyam Prasad is a talented Carnatic Vocal musician, who has secured Karnataka State level 8th Rank in the Pre-Vidwat Examination.
His initiation into Carnatic Vocal Music was under Vid. Smt. Gayathri Shankaranarayana (Mysore), followed by Intermediate level training with Vid.Shri. S N Srinivasa Prasanna and Advanced training from Vid.Ganakala Shri.H S Sudhindra on Manodharma and performance. Presently he is associated with Vid. Shri. Balaji Shankar of Chennai, whose mentorship is honing his art further.
Shyam Prasad is credited with performances across renowned venues like Sri Rama Mandira and Indian Institute of World Culture(IIWC), Bangalore, in addition to numerous concerts in Temple and Chamber Concerts on various auspicious occasions like Navarathri, Shivarathri, Ramanavami, Sri Thyagaraja/Purandaradasar/Raghavendra Swami Aradhana, Datta Jayanthi inside and outside of Bengaluru (2015 to present). In the media he has performed for Sri Sankara TV in “Global Trinetra Mahautsav” and All India Radio Bengaluru.
In his vocation as a Guru, he has been imparting Carnatic Vocals lessons to students, at beginners, intermediate and Advanced levels since 2019. In addition, he has also been invited as a Guest Faculty by the Arunodaya School of Music to teach rare kritis of Sri Muttaiah Bhagavatar.
