Beginner Western Guitar

The Western Guitar course is aimed at creating a versatile performer. The objective of these courses is to learn different genres and styles of music like Rock, Blues, Funk, etc., on the guitar that enables a musician to use these skills both in sessions playing or on the stage. An understanding of these styles not only helps students in pursuing independent music but also makes a student a complete guitarist. The course can take in students at very basic levels and then progress them to more advance concepts and techniques over five distinct levels of learning.

Course Modules

  1. Introduction to Guitar and Western Harmony

    Basic Finger exercises, Music Notations and Theory.
  2. Understanding the Guitar and Western Harmony level 2

    How Guitar works, understanding different sounds of acoustic and electric Guitar, Chords and Scale exercises. Theory on how chords and Scales are formed using western harmony
  3. Picking Techniques

    Fingerpicking Techniques, Alternate Picking, Funk and Rhythm Guitar
  4. Advanced Harmony

    Major Scale and different Modes of the scale
  5. Different styles of the guitar

    This module is all about venturing into different styles of the guitar 
For example, Gypsy Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, Brazilian Grooves, BossaNova, Swing Jazz (Based on Student preference)

  6. Advanced Jazz Harmony

    Focuses of Building chords with extended Jazz Harmony
  7. Song arrangement

    How to arrange a song, Fundamentals of structuring a song.

  8. Improvisation Techniques

    Improvisation Techniques and following chord changes with melody notes and Key notes of the song.

Course Features

HQ Video Call Classroom

One to One, High quality classes through an in-built customized video call application that works on the browser without the need to install any external software like skype or facetime. All you need is a Laptop, Chrome/Firefox and a good internet connection.

Dashboard - Progress Tracking

Every student is provided with a dashboard with features to track practice, performance and course progress. It displays course modules, class feedbacks, improvement tips, next class timings and a lot more information.

Notes Timeline

Completed classes are updated with class notes, improvement tips, practise notes and feedbacks from Guru that are stored in the form of a timeline for future reference.

Class Schedule / Rescheduler

A calendar that displays the upcoming classes, concerts and other events. A easy drag-drop interface to allow rescheduling of classes to allow maximum flexibility.

Music Theory Blackboard

A music theory Q and A blackboard that is maintained by the Guru to educate the students in music theory.
