Sowmya DR

Smt.Sowmya DR is an extremely talented and accomplished Karnatak vocalist from Bangalore. Sowmya learned under the tutelege of famous vocalist Late Dr T.S Rama, Vidushi Shashikala and Vidushi Vijaya Subramanyam. She did her Bachelors in Music from Bangalore University and secured a Gold medal. She did her Masters in Karnatak Music from Jain University under the able guidance of Padmashri R N Thyagarajan and Dr Meera Rajaram Pranesh. She continues to learn under the guidance of Dr Meera Rajaram Pranesh. She has given numerous performances at venues such as Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams, Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt – Mantralyam, SVCC Temple, Fremont – California. She has completed a course in Music therapy (for the development of special children) from Information Resource Center, Bangalore.
