A doctorate in music and a disciple of the legendary late Shri. Thanjavur Sankara Iyer, Shri. Valivalam Venkatraman is a promising musician in Indian Classical Music and a torch bearer of the Thanjavur Sankara Iyer bani. An experience of 32 years in the Carnatic music field, he has trained students from all over the world for the past 25 years. Shri. Valivalam has also been a professor at Raja Annamalai Mandram – Chennai, visiting professor at Madras University and Tamil Nadu Government Music College.
With a rich experience in teaching students across the globe, Shri. Valivalam has trained over 500 students from all over the world. He has given numerous Carnatic vocal concerts at estemmed and prestigious stages including the Music academy, Chennai, Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha and Indian Fine Arts Society, to name a few. He has also performed at the All India Radio and has given interviews as well performed in television concerts.
