V.V. Prassanna is a star playback singer in the South Indian Film Industry who has won millions of hearts with some blockbuster hits like Koodamela Koodavechi, Azhaagai Pookudhey to name a few. He has rendered his mellifluous voice in more than 4500 film and devotional numbers in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Shri. Prassanna hails from an illustrious family of musicians. He is the great grandson of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late Flute Sanjeeva Rao and grandson of Violinist Late P.S.Ramachandra Rao. He is a prime disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Neyveli Sri.R.Santhanagopalan and Palladam Shri Venkatarama Rao. Prassanna has won numerous awards and titles including the Best Playback Singer 2015 – Radio Mirchi Award for the song Koodamela Koodavachu, ‘Dhaasa Sahitya Bhushana’ – title conferred by His Holiness Sri Viswa Prasanna Theertha Swamijee of Sri Pejawar Mutt, Udupi to name a few. He has performed live shows and lecture demonstrations all over the world and has worked with almost all the top music directors in the South Indian Film Industry. He recently made his debut as a music director in the Tamil star cast ‘Kalari’ in August 2018.
