Sivaraman and Shri Ghatam.V.Suresh, Akshay Ram is the winner of the Best Mridangam artist award from The Music Academy, Madras in 2010 and 2012. He has shared stages with legendary musicians like Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Shri Vijay Siva, Sri O.S Thiagarajan, Smt Gayathri Venkatraghavan, Shrimathi Gayathri Girish, and Shri B.Kannan and so on. Akshay Ram has performed in over 1500 concerts all over the world right from year 2004. He is a proud recipient of Dr.M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship in music from Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai and a B High graded artist of All India Radio. He was awarded with the ‘Laya Ela Maamani’ from Saptaswaram Isai Peravai, Sri Pazhani Subramaniam Pillai Endowment Prize from Krishna Gana Sabha and the Valyapatti Kashyap Endowment Award in the year 2010. He is a proud winner of YUVA KALA BHARATHI from Bharat Kalachar, BALA KALA RATNA from Bala Kala Saagaram trust, MAHAM SANGEETHA and the NAKSHATRA Award from Maham Enterprises to name a few. He was also honoured with the ‘Youth Excellence Award’ in the year 2008 by the Rotary Club Mount, Chennai. He was also one of the top University rank holder of Madras University, and currently a part of top rated bands such as Groovida and Indosoul. Beginner Mridangam
A well-structured course where the students will learn the fundamentals of Mridangam that includes basic Carnatic music theory, Indian Percussion theory and complete Aadi Thalam lessons. The courses consists of around 10 modules in which the students will be learning Thisra (3 beats), Chathusra (4 beats) and Kanta (5 beats) in Aadhi thalam, Mohara and Koravai and some interesting korvais in Aadhi thalam. On completion of this course, the students will be able to perform a solo (Thani Aavartham) in Aadhi thalam and accompany simple songs in aadhi thalam..
