Mrs. Dharani Ramakrishna was born in Kumbakonam, the place of worship & arts, in 1972. She started learning Bharathanatyam from Thiruvidaimaruthur Smt. T.A Rajalakshmi and Kumbakonam Sri Murugesh at the tender age of 4. She made her debut concert at the age of 8 at Vani Vilas Sabha on the occasion of Artistes Day. She then perfomed a concert at the Jana Ranjani Sabha which was critically acclaimed and she was chosen as given the Best Artist Award. She had her “Arangetram” in 1988 at Kumbakonam. She then pursued her professional Bharathanatyam training at Tamil Nadu Music College, Chennai from 1988 to 1992. She has won numerous awards and titles that includes Nattuvanga Kalaimani, Natya Kalai Mani, Natya Kalai Oli, Bharathanatya Kala Rathna to name a few. She has trained over 200 students in the past 25 years as a Guru and has performed concerts all over the world. She has been a part of the Chidambaram academy run by Padmashri smt. Chitra Visweswaran for over 5 years. She has also trained a number of film artists like Tamannaah and has also choreographed for a number of films.
Bharatanatyam is one of most traditional dance forms that originates from India. Devotion, Workship and Discipline forms the core of this art form. In this course, students will undergo rigorous training in the fundamentals of Bharatanatyam that includes over 8 Adavus, Mudras, Mandi and Theermanas. On completion of this course, students will be eligible for the Intermediate level where they will learn Kowthuvam, Alaripu, Jathiswaram and other advanced concepts. .
