Dharani Ramakrishnan

Mrs. Dharani Ramakrishna is a passionate Bharatanatyam dancer. She started learning Bharathanatyam from Thiruvidaimaruthur Smt. T.A Rajalakshmi and Kumbakonam Sri Murugesh at the tender age of 4. She made her debut concert at the age of 8 at Vani Vilas Sabha on the occasion of Artistes Day. She also performed a concert at the Jana Ranjani Sabha which was critically acclaimed and she was chosen for the Best Artist Award. She had her “Arangetram” in 1988 at Kumbakonam. She then pursued her professional Bharathanatyam training at Tamil Nadu Music College, Chennai. She has won numerous awards and titles including Nattuvanga Kalaimani, Natya Kalai Mani, Natya Kalai Oli, and Bharathanatya Kala Rathna to name a few. She has trained over 200 students in the past 25 years as a Guru and has performed concerts all over the world. She has been a part of the Chidambaram academy run by Padmashri smt. Chitra Visweswaran for over 5 years. She has also trained a number of film artists like Tamannaah and has also choreographed for a number of films.

    Teacher Highlights

    • A vast experience of over 25 years as a performer and guru. Trained over 200 to 250 students all over the world.

    • Recipient numerous awards and titles that includes Nattuvanga Kalaimani, Natya Kalai Mani, Natya Kalai Oli, Bharathanatya Kala Rathna to name a few.

    • Has been a part of the Chidambaram academy run by Padmashri smt. Chitra Visweswaran for over 5 years.
